Kathryn Sibley

Kathryn Sibley (Kate, as she is known) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She is also the Director of knowledge translation at the George & Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation, which houses the Manitoba CIHR SPOR SUPPORT unit. Kate was recruited to Winnipeg in 2014 after completing an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, graduate degrees in rehabilitation and medical sciences at the University of Toronto, and postdoctoral work in Knowledge Translation at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute- University Health Network. In 2016 Dr. Sibley was awarded a Tier II Canada Research Chair focused on integrated knowledge translation in rehabilitation sciences. The goals of her research program are to (i) increase use of evidence-based balance and fall prevention rehabilitation strategies in real-world settings, (ii) advance implementation science through a rehabilitation context, and (iii) advance the science and practice of integrated knowledge translation.
