Alex Liu
MSc Student
School of Kinesiology
Faculty of Education
2022 September - 2025 March
Alex completed his undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at UBC and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the same institution.
He has conducted research in injury biomechanics, contributing to studies on whiplash dynamics and leading a project on measuring diving kinematics. Building on this experience, his current research focuses on proprioception, with a particular emphasis on developing functional proprioception tests and investigating sensory mechanisms underlying human balance control. He has pioneered a novel test that uncovers unique sensory mechanisms and holds great potential as a clinical or performance evaluation tool. His broader research interests include sensorimotor control, movement biomechanics, and injury prevention.
