Sayna completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at the University of British Columbia. Prior to starting her MSc, Sayna was involved in research projects related to exercise, stress, and the effects of at-home exercise applications on mental health at the University of British Columbia. Sayna was also involved in AI-based analysis of medical images at Simon Fraser University.  

Sayna’s thesis examines mitigating maladaptive postural and emotional responses to height-induced postural threat in static and dynamic balance tasks through the use of motivational self-talk. Beyond her thesis work, Sayna is also interested in exploring balance and postural changes in clinical populations.
